Kalmar reachstacker breaks world lift record

Cargotec subsidiary Kalmar has broken a world record due to the heavy lift ability of its newest reachstacker, called Super Gloria, according to a company statement. Super Gloria lifted a steel component weighing more than 100 tons in front of a select audience on September 12 at Kalmar's facility in Lidhult, Sweden.

Kalmar says the new DRG1000-92 ZXS is the planet’s largest industrial reachstacker. Its new design was created to meet customer needs, with lift capacities up to 120 tons depending on application. The Super Gloria model has been augmented with a specially raised cab to enhance visibility, the company said, and a wheelbase of 9.25m to provide maximum stability.

"Lidhult is the home of Kalmar reachstackers," said Stefan Johansson, director of sales and marketing for Kalmar Reachstackers and Empty Container Handlers. "This small village, deep in the forests of Småland in southern Sweden, serves as the product development center for Kalmar mobile equipment. Given the local involvement in developing this world record-breaking machine, it is fitting that the team involved share in making a little history."
